May not work w other metals though. (btw, I don't much care for stamping letters either. Why do I even make jewelry???)GraceChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01841872599168006916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5172051582682727802.post-39553543062775011082011-02-08T10:42:04.170-05:002011-02-08T10:42:04.170-05:00Courtney - best of luck. I try and be sure that the entire letter is making full contact on the metal before I stamp - and I do whack it a few times. The heavy hammer is good advice.Cindyhttp://www.sweetbeadstudio.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5172051582682727802.post-1846410738128811772011-02-08T09:42:48.805-05:002011-02-08T09:42:48.805-05:00Once you hit the stamp, you can tilt it slightly i...Once you hit the stamp, you can tilt it slightly in the direction where the stamp is not making a good impression and give it another tap. Just don't move the stamp off the spot before you do the tilt, tap....beaducation had this little tip.....
Hope this helps.
MichelleMichellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11652030221444100995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5172051582682727802.post-12548763607047044472011-02-07T09:08:18.554-05:002011-02-07T09:08:18.554-05:00Yes, I was going to say the same thing. Perhaps you can ask to have a new "e" sent to you because your stamp isn't making an impression. It's not you, it's the stamp..
Jeanettejeanettehttp://www.jeanetteblix.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5172051582682727802.post-60736412839959338092011-02-07T08:54:55.688-05:002011-02-07T08:54:55.688-05:00Are you using a 2lb hammer? Ditto what Erin said, too, about the stamp itself -- sometimes there's not enough raised up.Pretty Thingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00285473788765783338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5172051582682727802.post-20276509702218452812011-02-06T18:03:43.551-05:002011-02-06T18:03:43.551-05:00It might just be your stamps, Courtney. I don't know how big that is, but if you had some sort of a straight edge, like a screwdriver maybe you could add the straight part of the e. Be sure to practice that a few times on a scrap piece.
Also, a good dead blow hammer really helps me get a good impression.
Enjoy the day!
ErinTesoriTrovatihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12771359288546654791noreply@blogger.com
