Focus on Life - Week 17 {Color}

Our prompt was Color!

"Whether photographing a full shot of amazing colors or small pops of color against a muted background, this week break out your camera and capture some color.   Think about how the colors of the shot effect your mood, feelings, perception of your surroundings!  Focus on how the colors impact your decision to take a particular shot. "

I saw the prompt on Saturday with the word color in the header
and I hadn’t even read the email.
I went upstairs to my bedroom, looked out the window and saw this.
There wasn't even a second thought, ran downstairs and grabbed my camera.
How spectacular, laundry drying in the spring breeze.

Now these are old but so colorful!

The University of Maryland's Holi celebration last year. I can
not express the joy I felt taking these.

Partly because it was a spectacular spring
day, partly because of the amazing color, and mostly because
my daughter invited me to come along and take the pictures.

Sally asks us to think about how colors of the shot affect our mood -
pure joy, for both.

The top one is pure simplicity and stunning,
these bottom ones, joy.

Please hop over to Sally's blog to see how others found
color this week.

Focus on Life - Week 16 {Talk a Walk}

Our prompt was to grab our camera, open the front door
and step outside into the fresh air.
Take a Walk!

So I did.

SPRING!!!

Flower stalking! :)

Waiting!

And lastly, this is my fav!

everyone else found on their walks!

52 Weeks - Week 15 {Aged Beauty}

Sally's prompt this week is to find some Aged Beauty.
Something from the past, an old building,
a vintage treasure from a flea market, maybe even a
wonderful piece of jewelry from our jewelry box.

I opted for some rust!
Glorious rust!
I love this fence. I drive past it twice a day to and from
work.

You can see it in the background there.
I am drawn to this spot every spring as these daffodils
bloom all over the hill.

Spectacular!

Look at the size of this one. There are a few odd ones
that are HUGE!

Now, if you saw my "Flower Stalking - April" post
on Facebook, you know where these were taken.

(I have a habit of stalking flowers in my neighbors
yards and neighborhood and very carefully taking shots)

I was not driving!
I parked my car, right next to the
Secret Service Patrol Car,
and took the pictures.

They happen to be on the grounds of
the Embassy of Israel.

Thank you Mr. Secret Service officer for letting me!

Please hop on over to Sally's blog to see what
wonderful Aged Beauty folks have found this week.

52 weeks - week 14 {Up Close}

Sally has tasked us with getting
close to our subject. To see something
we might not have seen otherwise.

We had a crazy snow storm that last Monday in March,
and, with a bit of snow left on the ground I managed
to catch these in the early morning light.

Please visit Sally's blog to see how close
everyone else has gotten.
