Lensbaby Project {January}

Lensbaby Project ~ January

This is part of my adventure for this year,
to work more on my photography!

A friend told me about her Lensbaby lens, I did some
research and it looked like fun! Needless to say, when it came,
I played but became frustrated. And I am still struggling.
So when this opportunity came about on Clickin Moms to join a blog circle,
I jumped at the chance.
This will force me to get it out, put it on my camera and LEARN!

I am using a Lensbaby Muse and
Here are my shots for this month!

My boy trying to avoid the lens. :)

I love a rainy night!

My jar of things I am grateful for at the end of the day.

Ah, the laundry room and my recycling! :)

I welcome any and all feedback you all may have!

Next in our circle is

Thank you, Jennifer for starting this group and
coordinating all of us.

Focusing on Life - week 4

Hi ~ me here.

I have a confession - I was here for week 3,
only Sally said to take time for ourselves.
I did - I just didn't take any pictures.........
Sorry.
Ok, moving on. Our week 4 prompt was to Create Art!
I did - in several forms.
I just go this wonderful heart from Nancy Schindler.
Small confession - I hoard her pieces......
But this one spoke to me loud and clear,
had to create this necklace, had to!

I found these fun necklaces on Pinterest
(yes, I have an addiction)
and they looked fun. A knock off of an Anthropolgy piece.

I created with food also, it's an art, yes?
My attempt at healthy oatmeal muffins.
They are good, very dense though.

And, there may or may not have been more of these,
I'm not telling! :)
And there he is!
Playing his video games.
Love him.
Kids are a form of art! I think I have a
masterpiece in the works!
Outside of the box on this one, but
as I am playing with my camera, it was fun!
Please visit Sally's blog to see what everyone created!
Until next week.

Focus on life - week two

My word!

I have two actually.
One wasn't enough for 2013.

I have never chosen a word, nothing has spoken to me.
Perhaps it is my journey this year that has let the
words speak to me. :)

and

I am embarking on a wonderful journey this year!
My hope is to take my photography to the next level!
This is huge for me, to verbalize this, too take steps
to make it real!

There I said it, taking it to the next level!

Thank you Sally, for taking us along on this adventure of
documenting our year, one week at a time!

Please hop on over and see what everyone else
has chosen as their words.

Focusing on Life - week one

In keeping in line with some of my goals for the year
I have decided to join Sally Russick's
The goal is to share one photo a week.

Our first assignment was a self portrait.
Another goal - to get in front of the camera more,
sends a powerful message to my kids about me and
my self esteem.

Ironically, I snapped this on one of my lunchtime walks
this week while at work.
I am in my new, most wonderful coat, the day was chilly and sunny!
What a wonderful walk.

not great, but not bad! :)

Please visit Sally's page and see what the rest of us are up to!

2013

Happy New Year to all of you!

2012 was an amazing year. Among other things,
my daughter graduated from high school

We had "the greatest vacation ever"
(according to our kids)
Disney World was such a blast.

I "dyed" my hair pink to honor an amazing woman, Lori Anderson

Sent my daughter to college
(how exactly did that happen???)

My son started high school

My hubby turned 50, retired after 25 years on the Metropolitan Police Department
and will start his "new" job shortly.
(no pictures of this....)

Christmas was filled with friends and family, the tree, the decorations,
and the fun of having everyone around.

We welcomed 2013 in quietly last night
with a nice dinner and a few episodes of Community
(seriously, one of the funniest shows!)

This year will be a big year for me, personally and professionally!
I have found that I am drawn to my camera more and more
these days, don't worry, the beads will always call my name.

I have loved being able to do this,

and this,

and this,

I can't even begin to tell you the joy it brings me.

I have decided that I want to do this professionally, like a grown up! :)

I took the step and have filed for a business license with the
state of Maryland and am awaiting it.
It felt sooo right!  More than my beads.

My heart is so full with the excitement and
possibility of this adventure.
Not going to lie, I am terrified at the same time.
But, I am ready to take that first step.
I have so much to learn and welcome it with an
open heart and mind.

I know that being able to make this my full time
job will take time, I am giving myself four years to do this.
At that point, my daughter will be graduating from college and my
son will be headed to college, and
hubby will be four years into his new career.

I have had some amazing friends who have agreed
to help and support me on this journey.
Thank you Jeannie, Karen, Kathleen, and Kelley!

most wonderful saying the other day,

"May you chase a dream you never thought possible and
realize you can reach it."

I am dreaming and reaching!

I.Can't.Wait!

I hope you will stick around and go on this adventure
with me!

May 2013 be filled with joy, happiness, health and may you
achieve all your goals!
