My weekend

Hello! I wanted to share my wonderful find from this weekend. We went to our thrift store and I got this wonderful item.  My daughter is utterly embarrassed that I purchased this and have carried it this weekend. I absolutely love it! Rhinestone clasps and in the handle!

And then got my nails painted this wonderful color, but am still wondering if it is ok for the office! Oops.

My daughter and I went to the Intergem show last weekend and I found these beauties! I am making my mom a necklace from the Opaline and will make a necklace for me! from the clear crystals! The opaline is absolutely magical against the skin and almost glows! So beautiful.  The crystal is magical also.  Very striking.

Magical indeed.  Once I create, I will share with you all. I have also ordered some wonderful beads from different folks on Etsy and will share them with you once I get and photograph.  I can't wait to play.

Coffee

What a wonderful thing. As I sit here sipping on my wonderful Donut House Cinnamon Roll coffee from Green Mountain Coffee, I am watching the weather and can you guess what they are forecasting? Yup! Snow. Tonight into tomorrow. Well, as long as it is only a few inches. Anyway. I love the early mornings, sitting here sipping, enjoying the peace and quiet before I have to get everyone else up. Ahhh! Shhhhh.
But I do have to say, wish I was here!

Happy Wednesday all!

Playing with Resin

So I did some playing over the weekend with my ICE Resin and here is what I came up with. Unfortunately, my pictures are not the best and you can't really appreciate the heart. Bummer. I do love it though. Added sparkles to the resin - very sparkly!  The other bezel was on an uneven surface (yes, I did read the directions!) and spilled over a bit.  It is actually pretty funny if you look at it, the dome is on the bottom half of the bezel. Oh well.

Bead Giveaway!

Beads, a giveaway, really?  YES! Hope on over to Barbara Lewis's blog Painting with Fire and join/follow her blog. These fire torched beads are absolutely beautiful!

My new favorites!

Hello all!
Well, after all was said and done, I did get more time to create and I would like to share my two new favorites! (apart from my wonderful gold polymer clay necklace) I think that each time I create a new necklace, that it becomes my new favorite. I purchased these wonderful Green Girl Studio pendants but wasn't sure what exactly I was going to create with them. Both necklaces went through several iterations and here is what I ended up with. One is wonderful and delicate and the other is a bit more substantial.

I would love to know what you all think.

I also entered a contest that my friend Jeannie put up on her blog and website. I am actually really psyched about what I created. Can't show them yet - voting will begin the end of the month. Check back!!!

Beading and the snow

Well, that 5-10 inches turned into approx. 15 inches of new snow. The wind blew, the snow fell and we prayed to the power gods not to lose power again. We didn't! Yeah. It has been a long week, lots of shoveling and digging. We were all home for the entire week, a bit of cabin fever did set in. I did get to some creating. Here are some of the polymer clay beads I created. Not sure what I will do with them. I think it was more of a "what can I make" deal. I like the word charms - not bad for a first attempt.

I also made another Confetti necklace. I do like this, very cheerful.

I created these wonderful gold pc beads with a specific necklace in mind. Drum roll please...................it turned out exactly like I had in mind!! Absolutely love it! I shared it with my friends at Beading Daily and it was well received. Hey, even it if wasn't it wouldn't matter. I love it!

And just because, here is another snow picture. :)

Snowpocolypse 2010!

Ok, so another weather post! We got dumped on, crazy snow. And then there is the loss of power for 36 hours, very, very cold. We could see our breath inside the house. When the power came on late yesterday, it was such an amazing thing. I think it took us about 10 hours to really warm up, inside your body warm. And, they are forecasting 5-10 more inches for tomorrow night! Now, I love the snow - but enough.

Needless to say, I have not had any time to bead. Here's to today ~ a snow day with power!

Here are a few pictures:

My work

Good Morning,
I have to laugh. Here I have created a space where I can share my work and I seem to be posting more weather pictures than anything else. Hee Hee. Well, as there is a major storm forecast for this weekend, I am hoping that it will translate into some creative time for me. I have been working on more polymer clay beads, and some scrabble tile pendants. My first foray. I hope to post my work over the weekend. In the meantime, if you live in the DC area, love that snow!!

Snow!

So, we got more snow today. We have had a wonderful winter so far in the DC area. I took a few pictures on my way to work and then at work.
