WOW! And I bought a lottery ticket too.

I read my email this morning and guess what? I won Sweet Bead Studio's giveaway!  I feel very, very, lucky. Can't believe it actually, so I went and bought a lottery ticket also. $5 worth. I know, big spender.  Think good thoughts.....  :)

Uncle!

So, my hubby couldn't sleep last weekend, got up at 4:30 am on Saturday morning to discover a leak under the kitchen sink. I spent all day Saturday with the plumber, 5 1/2 hours worth, to get this fixed.  Spent a nice sum of money on that and lost most of my Saturday.  Then, on Wednesday after my kids get home from school, I get a call and this is what happened.

Yup, that's right.  Something (weather, rock, snow) shattered the top of the patio table out side! Crap! Gotta get a new table.   And then I get up this morning at 5:30 am, can't sleep, and go to do laundry and guess what?  I turn on the dryer and it sounds like a Nascar race in my laundry room.  This unbelievable loud, metal-on-metal, grinding sound is coming from the dryer. REALLY? I mean, Uncle! And it is a holiday weekend. Well, looks like I am either not doing laundry or it will all have to be line dried.

New pieces

I want to show you a few pieces that I made ~ one that is finished and one that is in process.

This is my up-cycled piece. I took a vintage broken pin and turned it into a necklace.  The "pendant" has such amazing sparkle.

Here is a piece that my cousin asked me to create. I am actually very, very happy with the way it turned out.  Keep in mind that it is not finished right now!  :)

Enjoy.

Andrew Thornton's Thursday Giveaway!

Yet another wonderful giveaway! Yummy! Thank you Andrew!

My work space

I am making progress. As you can see from my space, I have many potential projects out.  I have gotten much taken care of at home and can actually see time to bead! :)  Going to the International Bead and Gem show this weekend at the Dulles Expo Center.  Have my list working.  Can't wait.

Fun! The necklace that I made for my friend (chain post) sold. She loved it. Yeah. Makes me happy that someone else sees my work as worthy.  Feels good.  My SIL asked me to make a piece for her, and I am working on a piece for my cousin.  Love family.  I will share pictures soon.

Have a great Friday.

Nutella

Why I love my husband!

So, he offered to do the grocery shopping last weekend (mother's day) and nutella was on the list.  So, this is what he got ~ the super size! :)

New pieces

Well, I did have some time to create and here they are.

This piece is for a friend.  She liked mine and wanted one a bit longer. I think it came out really well.  These next two are bracelets that I made for Caroline and me.  They are on silk ribbon with a few items strung along.  Hers, the navy one, ties and mine has a button clasp.  I love the colors!

Enjoy!

I WON, I WON, I WON!

I won Andrew Thornton's Thursday Giveaway! Yeah, doing the happy dance.  Thank you so much Andrew!

My Bead Soup Ingredients

Good Morning!
Lori said that we can post pictures of what we sent our partners.  So, here is what I sent Amy!  The focal is a Hill Tribe silver sunflower pendant and my clasp is a simple silver S clasp.  The beads that I included are in the blue/green/yellow field, thinking of summer and flowers.

I included some turquoise, czech flowers and crystals, agate, jasper and a few silver decorated rounds.  I hope Amy likes them! I can't wait to see what she sent me!!!!!

Jennifer Jangles

Jennifer of Jennifer Jangles is celebrating her 500th post! Congratulations! She is doing a giveaway also. Check it out!

Friday! And Bead Soup

TGIF! I am so ready for the weekend. I feel like a broken record, but I am going to say it again - I hope I get some time to create this weekend.  We need to put the house back together after having the inside painted. It looks really nice, not looking forward to re-hanging all the pictures and moving furniture.  But, I am glad we did it.

I ordered some wonderful enamel beads from Barbara Lewis. She did an assortment for me in her wonderful new colors tangerine, aqua ice and blueberry! Oh I can't wait, I thing they should be here tomorrow!  She was so wonderful about creating the assortment. I will post a picture, promise. Now, if I can remember to photograph before I tear into the package!

I sent out my "ingredients" for Bead Soup today. Can't wait to see what Amy of Copper Diem sends. Hop on over and see her wonderful pieces!

Have a great Friday!

Lori Anderson's Bead Soup Blog Party

Lori Anderson of Pretty Things started this a while back and I loved following it the last go round and she has graciously put together another one.  I am very interested but also very hesitant.  I mean, these folks are really good, like outta my league.  Could I make something up to their standards?  I have emailed Lori my question and will see what she says.  Of course, I have waited until the last minute to ask.....nerves!  What do you think?  It would be a great way to come back to beading after the whole elbow thing.......

Phew!

Wow, that was a battle! I have waited forever to get a Jade Scott pendant. Got her email the other day saying that today around 2 pm central time that she was going to post new pendants.  Well, I got online and have spent the last 4.5 hours trying to get a few.  Several times I grabbed one, put it in my basket  only to be told that "it is no longer available".  Grrrr.  But, I did get a few. I got this climb pendant and this wonderful house pendant!  I am still lurking though.

I know, I know. You are thinking when are you going to create with all of these wonderful purchases?  Soon, I promise.  I hope to get some down time this weekend.....yeah in between all of the weekend chores and my daughter's date! Yes, I said date! I am not sure that I am ready for this.  I am thrilled for her! Yeah Bear!

New beads!

Well, some are mine and some are purchased.  First, here are mine. I have been playing with polymer clay again and here are my results. I am actually very happy with the way they turned out. I also visited Polymer  Clay Express in Damascus and, WOW! What fun!

Pretty neat, huh?  I got some really neat patterns for more polymer and two great colors!

And now for the fun. Below are the beads I got from Sue Beads.  Love them. Can't you just see the lentil beads as great summer earrings?

And now for my favorite!!!!! These wonderful egg beads are from Kelley Beads.  Aren't these so, so much fun???!!! I can't wait to play.  I have loved just sitting and looking at them. Oh, they are wonderful!!!!  Thank you Kelley!

Ok, that picture is blurry - sorry! But they look cute in their box.

Ah, better!

How beautiful are these?????
