Focus on Life - Week 7 {Beauty of Flowers}

The Beauty of Flowers

I love flowers, they are so beautiful and happy.
I try to have flowers in my kitchen each week, they
just make me smile.
And smiling is good!

The sunlight was coming through one of our windows in the
family room and it was wonderful.

My Christmas Cactus ~ early February!
Love this.

I also has these really fun, bright, colorful
daisy's in my kitchen that I wanted a shot of.

I blew the lighting, yet LOVE the way it came out.
Believe it or not, no editing.
This is SOOC.
(straight out of the camera)

Funky!
(will I ever be able to re-create? probably not)
:)

Speaking of camera's, I am feeling really overwhelmed with
the prospect of everything I have to do to get up and running,
it is somewhat paralyzing!
Small steps, small steps.

Please hop over to Sally's blog to see how everyone else is
celebrating the Beauty of Flowers.

I can't believe that second shot is SOOC! It's fantastic! And I love the soft, hazy quality to the Christmas cactus shot. Regarding the photography set up and feeling overwhelmed, just remember this, "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." Or like you said, "small steps."

My Grandma had a huge Christmas cactus and Mom and oldest sister have cuttings from it. Your pic made me think of them and smile.

I love it when a photo turns out to be amazing when I thought it would be a mistake. The daisies turned out gorgeous! The light on the Christmas cactus is fabulous! Great job Courtney!

Love the Christmas cactus and aren't those freaky happy accidents the best? Did I miss something, what about the camera setup is making you feel overwhelmed?

You know I am just a wee bit jealous that you have a blooming Christmas cactus. They such beautiful plants. That photo of the daisies is a stunner. What I really love is that you keep flowers in the kitchen. It a place where we spend so much time and I've never thought to keep flowers there.

I love Christmas cactus, too. The daisy shot is very cool - makes the colors saturated yet not.. if that makes sense.

I love a Christmas cactus bloom! we used to grow them in California, but somehow they don't do as well in the East. So pretty! And those daisies - WOW, just wow ... stunning!

My DIL has had a Chrimas cactus for years, and it always amazes me how it blooms just in time for the Holiday. Great shot!
