Tools, metal punches, ring things, metal stamps

I got tools! I have saved my pennies and ordered a bunch of stuff from Rings & Things and Fire Mountain Gems - got the package from Rings & Things and am awaiting Fire Mountain Gems. I am so psyched. I got some brass sheet, copper sheet, metal stamps, blanks and have my  disc punches on the way. Oh, to play with metal. :)  I opened my metal stamps last night and cleaned the goop off of them (ok, my son cleaned them while I made dinner...) He sorted them out and tried to put them in order. Turns out that I have two "s" stamps and no "a" stamp - I can't "dream" or "create" but I can "wish"! :) I called and Rings & Things laughed at me and are sending me my "a" stamp! Wonderful customer service. Hopefully I can play this weekend and will be able to share with you!  We are planning a quiet, pj wearing, comfort food eatin' weekend in the house. So much is going on, we are looking for down time. Good news - Taylor loves his new school. Yeah! Makes my heart happy. Said that he doesn't know why he was so nervous! Music to my ears.

I am so happy for you!!! I cannot say I am envious because I do love that you have your tools. But I can say that this is something I have been dreaming of, and it will be some time before I can make it come true. So enjoy double (for you and for me both). I cannot wait to see what you come up with.

Oh! I think my comment did not post correctly. I was saying that I wish you to enjoy double (for you and for me both) since this dream of mine of stamping metal will have to wait...
I cannot wait to see what you make!

Woot for tools! I love my stamps. I have quite a few different sets. And brass is a lovely color. If you plan to patina with LOS it takes a bit longer on brass... have a great time! My kids love it when I whip out the set and some copper sheet for them to hammer away on! You will be addicted! And you will share what you create, yes?
Enjoy the day, Courtney!

Thank you all! I hope to be able to play some this weekend. Is it wrong that I LOVED stamping my stamps into cardboard! :) Just to see, you know.

Hi Courtney, whew, I'm so glad we took care of the "A" situation :) Now keep practicing on that cardboard, you'll be an expert by the time the metal arrives!

Way to go, Taylor! New schools can be daunting and he stepped up like a brave little soldier.

Looking forward to seeing what you hammer out with your new tools!
