So, I have technically been freed!  No more brace.  Now, that is great but I am still struggling to do anything with one hand.....grrr.  I hate not being able to bead, photograph, cook....good lord.  Anyway, on to bigger and better. I did try my hand at some polymer tonight and my arm doesn't hurt tooooo much!  Yeah!  I will bake my pieces tomorrow and hopefully photograph.  I was inspired by this picture on UnaOdd's blog.  Her work is amazing.

The past few weeks have been the weeks from hell.  Between hubby working all the time (hate that blackberry), my daughter getting a cellulose infection in her ankle, my MIL's memorial service, my little man needing a tooth extracted, daughter's musical, little man's robotics competition and feeling utterly exasperated at not being able to do anything, I am so ready for the weekend!!!  Although hubby has to work all weekend, thanks IMF, daughter has two more performances and little man has a birthday party, this weekend will still be slower than last.

I am going to try to have fun, bead and relax.

Just because...

Ok, I saw this on tv and it totally cracked me up!  Oprah had him on her show as well.  Such a fun ad.  I do have to wonder if this will impact Old Spice's bottom line.  Enjoy.

Hello

Hello and good morning,
I know I have been very absent lately, and I apologize.  Things have been very busy with my one handedness, hubby working ALL the time and the kids back in school after their spring break.  It was a great break!  I spent some fun time with the kids!  I am still patiently waiting to bead......waiting, waiting, waiting....it is though all those beautiful beads sit on my desk laughing at me!  My muse has come several times and I am trying to document.  But, you know, it's just not the same.  I am in a smaller brace, removable!  I go back on the 21st to the doc and hopefully he will tell me that I can take it off to sleep.  Oh, wouldn't that be wonderful!!! Big Sigh!

We went out this weekend (ok, me and the kids) to make sure that we all have clothes for Sally's memorial service on Friday.  I am really trying to get a suit for DH, but that is proving harder than originally thought as he is WORKING ALL THE TIME and can't come with us.  grrr. Jos A Banks is having a ridiculous sale (but 1, get 2 free)  Trying to make that work for us.  So, back I go tonight to try again. Taylor has to go with me, wonder what I will have to bribe him with?  Please think good thoughts for me! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Treasure Trove

I was lucky enough to get much of Sally's jewelry.  I am attaching a few of my favorites.

and this is my fav!  picture a white shirt, jeans, the sun is out - mmmmm

Thank you Sally.  Beautiful, wonderful pieces.

Wednesday!

Good morning!  I continue to get better each day.  No pain, which is good news.  Just tired of being in this cumbersome splint.  In trying to find the silver lining,  I am getting some good time reading around on the computer, I am getting wicked good at typing with one hand, and my family is not tired of me yet!  You may not know that my mother in law passed away last Tuesday.  My husband got the call when I was in surgery.  Sally was such a wonderful, bright, dynamic woman.  She will be missed greatly.  Here is the most recent picture I have.

Such a wonderful woman!  Thank you so much for everything.

Goodies

Ok, I have got to remember to take pictures of my goodies before I open them. The problem is that I can't wait to see what has come......I get half way into them and remember! Crap!  Oh well.  Here are some of the goodies that I have gotten.  I want to start with some fun components and a pendant from Miss Ficklemedia.

Beautiful pieces. The ovals have a blue patina on them. I can't wait to play.  The next are some fun lookonglass charms and a great little bluebird bead from Cindy Gimbrone.  I love, love the bluebird bead.

I also got some great beads from Bead for Life.  So many opportunities with these bright and colorful beads. It also supports Ugandan Women.  Very worthy cause. Please go out and get some to support these talented women.

I got these fun findings from B'sue Boutiques.  I love the spider!

I have a few things in mind for my bugs!

But, these are my absolute favorite!!!  They are from Jubilee on Etsy.  I loved these when I saw them but have to say that they are even more wonderful in person!

How utterly cute are these? Hmmm?

I hope you like these as much as I do! Now - I just need some time to play or do I just hoard and enjoy?

Earrings for the Imp

So, I have ordered some wonderful beads and findings from some amazing artists on Etsy (thinking I may need an Etsy site), have gotten a few and keep forgetting to post pictures when I get them. Ok, I will take some pictures of the wonderful items and post them. Amazing things.  I did get some time to create last night and made my daughter some hoop earrings - first foray - and they turned out pretty well. I was very happy with the end result.  Hers are sterling and then I made a pair in gold fill.

Then I loosely wrapped some chalcedoney briolettes and dropped them on.  What do you think?
